1987

Born in St. Pölten, Austria

1993-1999

Drew constantly. Everyone said I was better than my peers. I loved it.

Produced a ton of comic books and rented them out for 10 Groschen per day at school. Got severely reprimanded for it.

1998

Got my first camera - a simple analogue point-and-shoot. Fascinated by it, but film and developing were expensive so I didn't use it much.

2001

Got my first digital camera. Took it everywhere.

2002-2003

Became obsessed with Lord of the Rings (still am). Started writing fantasy novels - never finished them then.

Somewhere around 14 to 16, I stopped drawing. I couldn't meet my own expectations and life felt complicated. I wish I'd kept drawing just for the joy of it, with more ease.

2004-2005

Worked a summer at Kika in St. Pölten as a sales assistant - wanted money for a computer or to travel. First traveled mostly alone at 17 or 18, went to Canada by myself.

Living alone from 16 due to family circumstances. Freedom is a double-edged sword. I learned independence very early.

Got more into multimedia - design, web design, video. Could never decide which creative discipline to prioritize.

2005-2006

Towards the end of high school, we had an assignment where we borrowed a camera with little cassettes and created a silent film with classmates. I loved working with moving images and wanted more of it.

2006

Graduated high school at 19. I was a terrible student but for graduation I studied harder than I ever had - became one of the best graduates in my year. I had disciplined myself because failing wasn't an option. This vigilance served me then but became difficult to sustain later.

2006-2009

Started my undergrad at FH St. Pölten studying multimedia. Got my first industry job at ORF Niederösterreich as a character generator operator during live broadcasts - just a few hours a week while studying.

Towards the end of my three-year program, did my internship at Uboot doing graphic design. Saw my first full-page magazine ad published. Started doing small freelance jobs. Writing fee notes terrified me.

2009-2010

Worked full-time at Uboot after graduation.

Took a trip to Australia. Fell completely in love with it - met some of my best friends, loved the music scene. They were sort of my rock and roll years. Decided I'd move there for further study - it was the only way I knew how to get a visa.

2010

Moved to Australia for my Master's in Digital Design at Griffith University in Brisbane. Became an actual freelancer - web design, motion design, graphic design, branding.

2011-2015

Started my PhD at Griffith, working on generative music video editing methods.

2012

Met Jesse. We got married a few years later.

2015

Returned to Austria at 27 or 28 with Jesse. We got married in Thailand right between our two countries, just before moving to Vienna.

Started freelancing all sorts of jobs. Met Tim Schmoyer and started doing YouTube editing work, but the freelance work wasn't enough to sustain me at the time.

2015-2017

Took a full-time job at Casinos Austria & Österreichische Lotterien as a media producer with the innovation management team for about two years. Learned a lot about working with larger organizations.

2017

Left Casinos Austria & Österreichische Lotterien. Tim Schmoyer from Video Creators got back in touch - he'd appreciated our work together and started recommending me to more clients. My freelance business could finally take off.

Started Studio Lilum, my post-production studio. I wanted to build something bigger. Client base grew - worked with educators on YouTube like Video Creators, Social Media Examiner, Nisha from Rainbow Plant Life, Guy in a Cube, Voice Essentials, and many more. Video Creators and Social Media Examiner were the clients that allowed me to grow initially. Gradually hired a team and learned incredible lessons about processes, business, managing people, and tackling large-scale projects.

I love the hands-on creative work most, but I also became quite knowledgeable about building efficient processes for complex projects.

2018

Jesse and I went separate ways.

Met Alex. We've been together ever since and continue to support each other's creative work.

2020-2022

The pandemic was my busiest time. The business grew - everyone was doing online video. My team and I barely got time off.

In the years after, everything shifted. The Great Resignation affected our business partners and us. Budgets for online video diminished.

2022

Decided to transition away from Studio Lilum and return to working solo. I wanted to get back to the creative projects and hands-on work with people rather than running a larger operation full-time.

2023

Started practicing under my own name. It felt right to be bold about my work rather than hiding behind a company structure.

Got a Sony a7IV during this transition. Realized how much I love photography. I'd largely abandoned it for years unless traveling.

Faced some health challenges and learned to listen to what my body and mind were telling me. Still working on prioritizing rest over productivity.

Finished writing a fantasy novel - very much a personal hobby.

2025

Took a part-time job as a photo editor. My colleague Franco changed my perspective on work, rest, and the quality of my own practice in meaningful ways.

Started writing a new fantasy novel to see if my writing can improve.

Currently working across multiple disciplines - ongoing video clients, occasional branding, photography, design, and funny enough, web design is making a comeback.

Pouring more resources into photography but I don't see myself as only one thing. I'm a multimedia visualist, bringing all these aspects into my work and personal art.

Vienna keeps me here. It's one of the greatest cities I've lived in - not a rational decision, just a feeling. I've found people I deeply connect with here. The history, the architecture, the vibe, the ease of living. I yearn for roaming, for nature, to get away from the noise sometimes. But I really love this city.

I'm a nomad at heart. If I weren't so tied to people and place, I'd probably go full nomad. I adore Italy, miss Australia deeply, love traveling through Asia. I'd like to see the whole world.
